If you watch HGTV religiously, like me, you know that adding character is extremely important. When remodeling a kitchen, adding character can be a bit of a challenge. Especially adding character tastefully. If done wrong, it will look odd and not match the rest of the homes decor.
Interesting glass accents
If you want to have the updated look of glass cabinet doors, add a little extra detail. Adding frosted, stained, or Diamond pane glass cabinet doors can be the punch your kitchen needs. Something as simple as this can add a lot of character, and is a relatively cheap option.
Make it unique
Opting for a table with detailed legs, rather an a kitchen island may be the character you’re looking for. This kitchen is a unique color and has more furniture style cabinets lined along the walls. Notice that each cabinet has little legs, rather than being flush with the ground. This will mean that you’ll need to clean under there, too, but the character is well worth it!
Crown molding and extended kitchen island
Adding crown molding is a simple touch that can be a big impact for character. Not only is it cheap, but is easy to install! Extending your kitchen island counters and adding decorative / supportive legs creates more depth to any kitchen.
Add corbels
Take a kitchen from simple to stately by adding corbels to your focal points. They stand out and are a great pop of character for any kitchen. With a plethora of styles and wood types, they can be glazed and stained to match any kitchen.
